Samantha Lurock
Sam is a Safeguarding Consultant at Safeguarding Network and is a registered Social Worker. Prior to joining Safeguarding Network, she worked for over 12 years in statutory social work settings with children aged pre-birth to 18 years. She has extensive experience of providing both strategic and case-specific oversight and direction for child safeguarding matters relating to risk outside of the home, familial harm, child to child harm and harm from professionals who work with children. She has a passion for delivering accessible and supportive safeguarding learning to a wide variety of audiences including police, health and education colleagues.
Aims and objectives:
Designated Safeguarding leads will:
Understand the importance of their role and responsibilities in ensuring their setting meets statutory requirements and Ofsted expectations.
Develop their knowledge and skills so that they can carry out their role effectively, including recognising, responding, and recording all levels of concern, including allegations made about staff.
Understand the safeguarding and child protection process.

The course will run for 3 online sessions.
Cohort 1:
09:45 (registration) 10:00 - 15:00 on Wednesday 15th October 2025
09:45 (registration) 10:00 - 13:00 on Thursday 16th October 2025
09:45 (registration) 10:00 - 13:00 on Wednesday 10th December 2025
Registration starts at 9:45, then the course will run from 10:00 - 15:00 on day one, and 10:00 - 13:00 on days two and three.
